This Privacy Policy describes how Teleprompterz ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use teleprompterz.com and related services. It applies to all users of the Service.
What we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored hashed).
- Content: scripts you write or generate, and recordings you create or save to your library.
- Usage data: how you interact with features, for diagnostics and product improvement.
- Device & technical data: browser type, operating system, and approximate region derived from your IP address.
- Payment information: handled by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers.
How we use it
We use your information to:
- Provide, maintain, and secure the Service.
- Sync your scripts and recordings across your devices.
- Generate AI script drafts when you request them.
- Respond to support requests and send service-related notices.
- Understand usage to improve features and fix problems.
- Comply with legal obligations.
Your recordings & camera
Teleprompterz accesses your camera and microphone only while you are recording, and only with your browser's permission. Recording and playback happen in your browser. A recording is uploaded to our servers only if you choose to save it to your cloud library or enable sync.
You can revoke camera and microphone access at any time through your browser settings.
AI processing
When you use AI script generation, the prompt and brief you provide are sent to our AI provider to produce a draft. We do not use your private scripts or recordings to train third-party AI models. Where a sub-processor is involved, we require appropriate confidentiality and data-protection safeguards.
When we share data
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only:
- With service providers (hosting, analytics, payments, AI) acting on our instructions.
- To comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect rights and safety.
- In connection with a merger or acquisition, with notice to you.
- With your consent or at your direction.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences, and limited analytics cookies to understand aggregate usage. You can control cookies through your browser; disabling essential cookies may affect how the Service works.
Data retention
We keep your account data while your account is active. Scripts and recordings stay until you delete them. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and other safeguards to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify you of incidents where required.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise many of these directly in your account settings, or by contacting us. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Children
Teleprompterz is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
